NEON MUSEUM

Collection contains hundreds of fully restored and dazzling historical neon signs, as well as other electro-graphic artefacts; many of which were designed by the great graphic artists of the age – the designers who were responsible for the world-renowned Polish Poster School. When you visit the Neon Muzeum you will be astonished by the sheer creativity and unique characteristics of a hitherto unknown art form – which was born from revolution, served as state propaganda, and was omnipresent throughout Poland and the Eastern Bloc's post-WWII urban landscape.

Building on over eighteen years of preservation and research efforts, our institution has also initiated a campaign to protect the last remaining historically important neon signs within their original urban environment. We have named this hugely successful campaign ‘Action Renovation!’ and the latest iconic sign restored and returned to its original location is the giant red Cepelia 'Rooster' at 37 Grzybowska Street, Warsaw. Working closely with our partner and sponsor Matexi Polska, we have faithfully restored the much-loved symbol with our slogan in neon: 'Together Lighting Up the City!'
