The exhibition is closed from March 15th, 2021
We invite you to explore the "Fascinating world of spiders and scorpions" at the Palace of Culture and Science. This is a colourful, informative and entertaining exhibition for all age groups!
It is the only exhibition in Europe where you can see the very rare and most venomous spider on earth – the Brazilian Wandering Spider (Phoneutria). Moreover you will see more than 40 unique and beautiful live specimens of spiders and scorpions from all inhabited continents of the world, including the Black Widow (Latrodectus pallidus), the largest spider on earth – the Goliath Birdeater (Theraphosa blondi), the largest scorpion (Pandinus Imperator – the Emperor Scorpion) and many others. The exhibition is enriched with information boards, intriguing descriptions and curiosities and of course it is adapted for children.
On the weekends at 12.00, 2.00 p.m. and 4.00 p.m. a spider is taken out of the terrarium and you have the possibility to hold it in your hands, accompanied by an experienced guide who will answer all of your questions about the captivating world of these wondrously adaptable and endlessly intriguing arachnids.
Visitors will have the opportunity to photograph and film all presented specimens. The animals are locked in glass terrariums, which ensure the safety of the viewers.
The organizers of the exhibition took care of the safety of visitors and, in accordance with the latest recommendations, introduced procedures to protect the health of visitors so that everyone can enjoy the attractions safely and pleasantly.
The exhibition is open daily from 10.00 a.m. to 7.00 p.m. in the Reception Hall of PKiN – Palace of Culture and Science (main entrance from Marszałkowska street).
