Jurassic Dinosaurs in Warsaw

The animatronic dinosaurs
Four animatronic dinosaurs appeared overnight in the center of Warsaw in front of the Palace of Culture and Science. The dinosaurs belong to 3 different species of herbivores and predators, all of them iconic for Jurassic Park, Jurassic World and the recently launched Jurassic Camp kids series. A 15 meters long Mamenchisaurus is moving his remarkably long neck alongside the imposing Triceratops and, of course, two Velociraptors, maybe some of the world's most well-known dinosaurs because of the aforementioned movies.
To kids’ delight and passersby surprise, all the dinosaurs present in Warsaw are able to perform several different movements and generate sounds. The animatronic dinosaurs exhibited in Plac Defilad belong to a global renown UK exhibition and they were brought to Poland for the first time to mark the launch of Jurassic World Camp Cretaceous, a Netflix kids series. The dinosaurs can appear in selfies and pictures with kids, parents and Jurassic fans until 1st of October.
The Hatching Egg
But the dinosaurs’ invasion in the center of Warsaw doesn’t stop here. The dinosaurs seem to be guarding a dinosaur egg protected by an incubator reminiscent of the clone labs from both the Jurassic movies and kids series. The incubator has see-through walls, allowing the public to gaze at a huge and quite unusual dinosaur egg, measuring 2 meters high and 1.5 meters in diameter. The incubator is also provided with a vital signs meter and a countdown is pointing to the days left until hatching. And there is more: the egg hatching is being live-streamed on obozjurajski.pl/co-sie-wykluje and kids can take a chance at guessing what species of dinosaur will hatch; in return they can win 200 toys inspired by Carnotaurus TORO, a dino who enjoys a key role in the Jurassic kids series, or apparel from a Jurrasic capsule collection.
The incubator installation is the first of its kind to be created and it’s the product of over 1000 hours of work, combining animatronic mechanics and technology, that will bring to life a real-life hatching process spread across 10 days; before hatching the egg will crack 5 times and on the 6th time it will finally reveal a moving baby dinosaur. The innovative installation was developed in Poland by a crew of 15 people, bringing together artists, technicians and producers, to mark the kids series launch on Netflix.
The dinosaurs and the incubator will be available to the public until 1st of October.
The Netflix series
‘Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous’ is the first television series in the Jurassic Park franchise and the first of its kind being transformed into kids animation. The animated spinoff produced in cooperation with Steven Spielberg and Colin Trevorrow, will follow the adventures of six teenagers who are chosen for a once-in-a-lifetime experience at an adventure camp on the opposite side of Isla Nublar. However, once the events of Jurassic World occur and the dinosaurs get loose, the teens find themselves stranded. Cut off from the outside world, the six have to rely on each other to survive. The first season available on Netflix since 18th of September will spread across 7 episodes that will without doubt capture the attention of kids and parents at the same time.
